Historically, Myanmar used to be called as Burma. It is a beautiful country with rich culture and populated by wonderful people. I look forward to going back there.
I will definitely write about my personal impression about Swedagon Pagoda in Yangon, the capital city. Many argue that the main pagoda is probably the most expensive pagoda in the world. This does not necessarily refer to the pagoda’s gold plating. Instead, the reference is about the diamonds, exquisite stones and precious gems that are stored in its topmost tower. I wonder if there are enterprising treasure hunters who are planning to make a daring heist.
I shall also share our Training on Socioeconomic Monitoring (SocMon) Methodology for Evaluation of Socioeconomics and Marine Resources Utilization at Selected Coastal Communities in Myanmar. This endeavor was in undertaken in Mon State collaborated with several institutions that included Bay of Bengal Programme, Flora and Fauna International and Mawlamyine University.
